Charlotte was purchased from an exotic pet shop in NJ in 1990. She was displayed in a fish tank and was so frightened that she never sat still, quieted down or stopped shaking.
The cruelty of her situation was more than we could bare so Charlotte the Lovely came home with us that day. She weighed about 6 lbs and could fit in cupped hands. To give you an idea, she was half the size of our 9 lb cat. Today, Charlotte weighs 170 lbs and shares her living space with a handful of other rescued animals.
