ConsignmentShops.com is pleased to be involved with PigPlacementNetwork.com and all animal groups across the country. As usual, what is most needed by every charity is also the hardest to get, MONEY. ConsignmentShops.com, with the assistance of Charlotte’s Threads, have been able to contribute a service to help with the fundraising. Members of these organizations or concerned citizens donate merchandise to us directly or to shops listed on our National Internet Directory on behalf of their group. A majority portion of the profits, if not all, is sent directly to these charities and put to good use immediately.

The mission of PigPlacementNetwork.com (PPN) is to educate the public and promote the potbellied pig as a house pet. This not-for-profit organization rescues, places and shelters pigs that have been mistreated or surrendered by those who cannot take care of them anymore. Donations are used to defray veterinary, housing, transportation and administrative costs of displaced pet pigs. Please click on the little piggy icon to visit their site and learn more about the Pig Placement Network.

Although shops throughout our site adorning the pulsating heart are active participants in the PigPlacementNetwork.com Donation Program, all ConsignmentShops.com Member Shops are participants.  Please contact us directly if you would like to donate to a non-Member shop.

How does ConsignmentShops.com help charities? Items donated by people just like you, are sold on line or at one of the shops listed on the ConsignmentShops.com National Internet Directory (accessible by clicking on the state of your choice from our home page). Donations are turned into sales and sales into cash. The profits are then sent directly to the charity.

How can you donate an item to charity? If you would like to donate, please drop off your donation at a participating consignment shop (see our National Directory for participating shops in your area) or send to ConsignmentShops.com 131 E. Fleming Pike Hammonton NJ 08037.  Please include the name and contact information of the charity to which you are donating. Cash donations should be sent directly to the charity. Please visit their site for address information.

What about donating via the Classified Ads page? You can also donate by selling an items or items yourself on the Classified Ads page and paying the charity directly. After adding an item to the Classified Ads page you will receive an invoice. Please respond to the invoice with the name of the charity to whom you will be donating and ignore payment.

What if you would rather donate merchandise to a different charity of your choice? We still suggest you choose a shop from our National Internet Directory, as they will have experience with donations. You should come prepared with the name and address of the charity to whom you are donating to and the name of the person that should receive payment. This is usually the Treasurer.

What should you donate?  Anything that you think another person would buy.  Of course, all shop owners prefer these items be clean and appropriate for the shop you are donating to. For instance, you wouldn’t donate a dining room table to a children’s shop.  It is also best to donate items that are seasonally appropriate.  However, because they are donations, shops will accept any and all merchandise you offer. Please view Donation Wish List and Consign Seasonally for ideas and information.

We are a charity and would like to get involved. What do we do? You should contact ConsignmentShops.com directly with your request and all the details of your organization.

We are a not-for-profit shop and donate directly to a charity. How do we get involved?  If you are a shop listed on our National Internet Directory, you will receive the ”Charity Heart” icon and be listed as a Charity Participating Shop (see below).  If you are a Humane Society Thrift Shop or any shop whose sale benefit animals, your shop will be listed on this site free of charge. Let us know who you are and let’s see how we can help you.

If you prefer to donate monetarily, please visit the appropriate charity’s site directly.
