Frequently Asked Questions

What is acceptable? Anything you think has a resale value is acceptable in the right shop.  For instance, that jewelry box you don’t use or those designer shoes that never matched anything, they would be perfect.

How do I know which shop to choose?  Check the National Internet Directory for a listing of shops.  You should be able to tell which shop will be most appreciative of your donation.  Take a bridal gown to a shop that carries bridal rather than to a children’s shop.  Not all Women’s shops carry bridal either, so it may be beneficial to contact a few of the shops to find the best fit.

Are shops expecting me? Not all shops have participated in our program to date. That is why we ask you keep the donation to a minimum the first time and to please come prepared.

What should I bring with me? Bring your donation and charity contact information.  That includes the name of the charity, its mailing address and the name of the Secretary/Treasurer if that is necessary.

What do I do first? Look around your house for a few items that you can donate. Clean them up and pack them neatly into a bag or a box for delivery. Don’t forget your charity information.

Is this tax deductible? Yes, it is. Send us your contact information along with a business card from the participating shop, and we will send to you the tax-deductible receipt.
