     What is the Charity
                 Donation Program

With the combined efforts of Member Shops across the country and ConsignmentShops.com, we have implemented a successful method of adding dollars to the bottom line of charities and organizations alike.  As with all charities, the hardest thing to get is the thing they need the most… Money! Our program turns donated merchandise of all sorts into dollars.

Donators are charity and group participants, as well as caring citizens. As the donator, you have the option of choosing the specific charity or allowing the shop to make the choice. Shops across the country send the profits earned on donated items directly to charities named as the beneficiary.  It’s as simple as bringing a picture frame and/or a kitchen clock to a participating shop and authorizing the proceeds be sent to the desired charity. Everyone has things they don’t need, but deserve a good home. These are the items that should be donated in the name of charity.

ConsignmentShops.com suggests donating to our Pet Charities, the Teddy Bear Foundation and PigPlacementNetwork.com as they work hard in promoting the ConsignmentShops.com Charity Donation Program, our National Internet Directory and our Member shops.

Tips for a successful donation

Most importantly, we suggest you only donate to Member Shops and we hope you
make an extra special effort to shop at the contributing shops.  You can find a listing of
Member Shops on ConsignmentShops.com by clicking on the state of your choice. Only Members-in-Good-Standing are listed on our National Internet Directory.  Shops already designating their profits to a charity do not participate in this program.  However, they will gladly accept your donation for their specific charity.

Make the best attempt to donate appropriate items to the appropriate shop. You wouldn’t take a man’s suit to a children’s shop.  Chances are, it wouldn’t sell, defeating the purpose of the donation

The items in the best condition bring in the highest profits.  Dusting-off or polishing-up can make a world of difference. Clothing is the hardest item to sell.  Make every effort to donate clothing in the best possible condition. Damaged goods, permanently wrinkled or stained will not be accepted.

Due to the size limitations of some of our participating shops, we suggest donating a reasonable amount of items at one time.  Also, if possible, seasonal items such as clothing should be donated in the appropriate season.
